At what point concern becomes policing? The discourse is well dead by now, but I kept it on my list for a reason, and that is that it WILL come back at some point. The issue that concerned me back then, and now, is how “tiktok leftism” is just doing eugenics, but woke.

People have forgotten, or they just really dislike disability, but back in the day they used to hide visibly disabled people. Not only that, but even today they sterilize disabled people so they wouldn’t “spread further”. Most of the time it was done without their consent, and with violence in mind. They want to eradicate disabled people to keep only the able bodied (white, cis, tall, thin, eurocentric) person wandering the planet.

At what point concern becomes policing? I repeat, as I see people bashing someone for having a kid while having a gen that so happens to cause disability. A gen that is dormant on some people, and skips generations. On tiktok and twitter they’re telling those people to not have kids.

When did we move from “if you’re not ready to have a disabled kid, you’re not ready to have a kid” to “giving birth to a disabled kid is a horrible thing to do and you should get sterilized”, but told wokely? What is the limit to this ideology? Are we really repeating nazi rhetoric?

Would you rather say “don’t have kids if you’re disabled” than “we should do something about the system, and a society that is so ableist it’s making me think it’s for the better disabled people don’t reproduce”? That’s as absurd as it sounds to me. As someone that was born with a brain deformity which was genetic, I never once could blame my parents for genuinely not knowing about that. I think a disabled kid born from able bodied parents don’t think that, either.

Then why is it okay to say that to disabled parents?

Because you hate disabled people! Because you genuinely think, in that brain of yours, that the only way of truly living is by being able bodied from birth. There’s people telling you to get a genetic test (!!) to know if you have any chances of giving birth to a disabled kid, all in order to avoid (!!) having it (!!!!).

This boils my blood, because it’s literally just eugenics. Saying certain people shouldn’t be born with a cheap excuse of their “quality of life”. What is a quality of life, even? We’re all being dogged daily by society and an economy that’s freefalling, so why are you so concerned by disabled people reproducing? What a disgusting way of seeing things.

Also, as a side note. What do I mean by tiktok leftism? It could very well be interpreted by liberal behavior. Some things are okay while some aren’t. Radical perspectives that may threaten the system they benefit from are not welcome. Certain body types are not welcome. Certain gender identities are not welcome. But they are progressive the AOC way - will support genocide, but will draw the line at generally agreeable issues. That is all, that is all.
